Things to Do in Guelph, Elora, and Fergus This Fall
Well, it’s September. The kids are back at school, the mornings feel a little crisper, and the trees are starting to show off those first hints of red and gold.
I’ll admit it: I’m a summer girly through and through. But living in Ontario, you can’t help but embrace the magic of fall. For some, fall means grabbing a PSL from their favourite coffee shop, but for me? It’s all about fall fairs, apple picking, and farm festivals.
The best part? Living in Elora means we’re surrounded by towns that go all out for autumn. Here’s my round-up of the must-see events happening in Elora, Fergus, Guelph, and beyond this fall.
ELORA
Elora Fergus Studio Tour Weekends
September 27–28 & October 4–5
elorafergusstudiotour.com

The Elora Fergus Studio Tour is a free, self-guided event where you can visit artists right in their workspaces, whether that’s a cozy basement or a bright stand-alone studio. You’ll meet both emerging and established artists, see works not normally shown in galleries, and maybe even leave with a new favourite piece.
Fall at the Farm – Fieldstone Barn
October 18
thefieldstonebarn.com
The ultimate fall festival experience: sip pumpkin spice lattes, hot apple cider, or hot chocolate while browsing an artisan market. Kids (and grown-ups) will love the horse-drawn wagon rides, corn mazes, and adorable alpacas. Add in live music, a campfire for marshmallow roasting, and cozy fall food, and it’s a perfect day on the farm.
Monster Month
All October
monstermonth.ca
Elora knows how to do Halloween. Monster Month takes spooky season to the next level with larger-than-life lantern sculptures by artist Tim Murton, Pumpkin Day celebrations, and the famous Monster March. It’s whimsical, eerie, and absolutely magical.
FERGUS
Antique & Classic Car Show
Friday, September 5 | 4–9 PM
Downtown Fergus fills with nostalgia as antique and classic cars line the streets. It’s free to attend, but be sure to bring a non-perishable food donation for the local food bank.
Fergus Fall Fair
September 12–14

One of Ontario’s oldest fairs and a community favourite. While agriculture remains at its heart, the Fergus Fall Fair has grown into a lively event with tractor pulls, a midway, livestock shows, handicrafts, food exhibits, and plenty of entertainment. It’s a true showcase of Centre Wellington’s talent and heritage.
